Just to give my .02 worth, thought I agree with Dave Massey in checking with
your local British/Triumph auto club first.
Having said that, I bought my TR4A after finding it in an ad on the VTR website
- and I think I made a good deal on a rare model.
I bought my wife's Stag from an ad on Ttraderonline.com - and was able to
negotiate $2500 off the seller's asking price, so once again I feel like I got
a really good deal.
I think the key to any used car purchase is research and patience - know the
car you're looking for (the more you know, the less you can be misled on) and
wait for the right one to come along - I looked for 6 months on the TR4A, and a
year and 3 months on the Stag! Impatience leads to poor purchase decisions
(been there, done that - bought the t-shirt and burned it!)
