Chances are that they don't work anyway, so that isn't a problem.

TR Clunks were a dealer installed option, and a popular option
they were.  There are more Clunks than J overdrives.  Almost
everyone has a TR Clunk.  It's a audible feedback device to
inform the driver that he has successfully changed gears.

Nobody drives their TR in the rain, so in much the same way that
dim gauges are not a problem, raindrops on the windscreen are of
no concern.  Wipers are a DOT requirement, but if your TR is used
properly, they are little more then quaint ornamentation.
