Another take. I have sold a few things on eBay, and I think I have resisted
the temptation to notify the list. With most of the stuff I have sold I
would have had a real hard time assessing a fair value, and the auction kind
of does that for me. There are also some things like books and collectibles
which belong there. When it comes to used parts, I'm the type of guy who
often donates spares I've collected to people I know from clubs and this
list, and I have benefited in kind. This list is wonderful that way.
However, some things just have too much value to be treated that way, and
IMHO NOS parts are on that list. And Fred, if you have a treasure trove NOS
stuff for sale, please tell us through the list, even if it's on eBay.
Please! I bet there is lots of stuff in there that will be hard to put a
price on, and maybe eBay is the right way to go. I can tell you this,
nothing is more awkward than having a fellow TR nut come over the house to
look at something you have to sell, and find out they think it's worth about
a tenth of what you think.
