Justin,
Believe it or not, that is a common problem.  The cure is to put a coat of RTV 
sealant on the side of the flat washer that points
inward away from the castle nut.  The oil actually flows down the splines and 
out the ends.  THe sealant will help seal the ends of the
splines.

(It did in my case, anyway)
