Eric... Eastwood's Clear Coat Barrier spray is what you're looking for. Part #13095Z Clear Nylon Base...can go over painted surfaces also with proper curing of the paint (ie time). I've used this on exposed bare metal and it works very nicely. I am going to used it on the alloy spokes of my Nardi wheel after it is polished.
