One thing no one has mentioned so far regarding the benefits of an electric
fan conversion (on a TR6 anyway)...you get a distinctive mechanical whine
from the engine, especially at >4000rpm. The mechanical fan makes its own
noise (gets louder the faster the engine spins) and blocks the sweet sound
of the engine to some degree. Even though it's just a TR6, it still sounds
pretty good when given the chance to sing its song. The mech fan decreases
the aural pleasure IMO.
(Oh , and I agree with all the posts about the fact it makes more sense to
have an electric fan on only when you need it vs the mech fan being on all
the time regardless of coolant temp).
