The rod bolts on the TR4A engine were changed to an improved more modern spec
part that did not require or use of the tabs. I recently rebuilt my TR4A
(66xxx) engine that was swapped into my TR4 at least 20 years ago and I did
not find tabs of rebuild with tabs. The engine is running strong and
smooth... now where is that piece od wood to knock on?

As I recall same is also true for the crank journal cap bolts.
