Hello all...interesting topic. My TR250 has the "mirror" wood with seam down the middle. I have always been under the impression (as well as my woodworking fanatic neighbor) that the wood is walnut, not mahogany. Mahogany has a very tight even small grain...my dash has many "walnut" swirls, knots, etc. And, i might add...it it georgeous after refinishing! Used a satin exterior urethane varnish made by Minwax. It's a bugger to get smooth without dust mites! But it looks good now. Larry M TR250 |
