Everyone "knows" that a Laycock friction plate cannot be used with a
Borg & Beck pressure plate, right ?
Why not ?
While checking out my new clutch parts (to be installed as part of the
fabled engine rebuild "real soon now"), I realized that I have a
mis-matched set. However, the friction surfaces seem to line up
perfectly, and there appears to be plenty of clearance between the
fingers and hub, even with it all bolted to a flywheel and allowing for
throwout travel. So, what's the deal ?
