Larry,
I believe that the UK/PI cars, including the TR5, have the twin pipe system.
I think I heard something about the single pipe manifold being better than
the twin pipe manifold.  I also heard that the headers are only a marginal
improvement over stock.  You need to have a VERY improved engine to
take full advantage of the headers.  All of this is stuff I think has been
said
on the list over the past few years.
