Dear Listers,
in an effort to ease my conscience, i wanted to let you know of a
random act of
kindness. a few months ago Rob Swift let us all know that he was parting out a
"6" and if
anyone needed anything, to let him know.
well, i needed an obscure part for my rear bumper mount that i had lost
during my
body-off restoration. i had borrowed the part during my re-assembly from a
friend (Eric
Conrad) because i was farther along than he was (although that won't be true
for long!)
and he didn't need it at the time.
Rob came to my rescue and took the time and aggravation to package and
send the
piece. i'm certain the value of his time investment far outweighed value of the
part but
he did it anyway and asked for no compensation.
to make matters worse, i didn't acknowledge receipt of the part or
offer to send
compensation for quite awhile after receiving it. while i have sent a check to
cover his
expenses,
i'm hoping this public recognition will at least cover some of my bad manners.
thanks Rob!
