AFAIK the speedometer in KPH was an optional extra ( part number 108193 )
for South Africa and a few other places .
Now if you don't want it .... let me know :-)

Well, don't do it like we did. No tachometer, speedometer in KPH (why I
have never figured out) and only the watches on our wrists. Also no
experience doing a time and distance rally since once in 1960 something.
We had a blast. Actually hit some of the sections within a few seconds. (I
think we came in 6th out of 12 novices.)
Speedometer needle fell off in protest on the way home. Lots of fun.
