We got a set of exhaust headers a year or two ago from Ken Gillanders at
British Frame and Engine (1-626-443-0939 in Temple City, CA, USA ) for a
'66 4A. Not cheap and a tight fit around the engine, starter and stock
Lucas dynamo, but they work well. We had them ceramic coated before
installing. The car had the design with one front and two rear mufflers
-- we just took out the front muffler and had a muffler shop weld a piece
of pipe in place of it with a flange to connect to the header outlet
box. Kept the rear mufflers. The car is not noticeably louder from normal
TR4 noise(?!). It does get hot under the bonnet just by the right wheel
well where the wiring harness runs -- enough to deform corrugated plastic
wiring covers that we added. Still working on this last part...
