Trevor,
I use 15W-50 Mobil 1 in my TR3. IMHO 5W-50 is too thin for the "loose"
clearances in a TR engine. I believe your oil pressure may drop
significantly with 5-50. The 15W-50 should be fine. It works for me. Hot
idle is 45psi in my 4,000 mile old engine. Anything over 1,500 rpm and I
am at the 70psi pop-off, as I am at cold idle.
