Just a note. My TR4 will NOT run on "Regular" or "Plus" gas. Never did (no
matter how much tweaking I tried with the timing etc.), still doesn't. Use
of anything but "Supreme" (meaning the highest Octane available at the pump)
will result in knocking (pinging). This is not good for the engine.
What caused this note is several e-mails recently about "Why is the engine
knocking (pinging)?" Low octane fuel is not the only thing that will cause
the problem, but it is the simplest to remedy. Cheers.
