Ya know, I have never seen another 54 TR2 other than my own. Lots of TR3s
though. I have wondered if the stock TR2 had the same kind of fender welt
material as the TR3. When I bought it as a semi-basket case it had
deteriorating welting without the large piping common to the TR3 welts. Does

I think MGA's use a soft plastic? fender bead in places, perhaps that would
work. I recall some years ago discussing the bead with the owner of a very
nice TR2, and I believe he told me he used some intended for some antique
American car. He said it took some research, but it was almost identical to
the original. How he knew what the original was like, I couldn't say!
