Michael,
I can't argue with anything you said, and I certainly don't know the theory
behind the Flowmasters, but in most tests run by "hot rod" type magazines,
the Flowmasters rank near, if not at, the top of the performance street
mufflers for horsepower ratings.
One thing I do know, though -- they sound GOOD! A few years ago, while I was
still on the fence about putting a V8 in my TR6, a fellow showed up with a
Ford 302 powered TVR, with a set of Flowmasters on it. That was the
convincer! I guess you could say my V8 conversion is planned around a set of
Flowmasters!
BTW, did I mention they sound GOOD!
