Hello Listers,
Some of you should be back from VTR by now, from my side I
attended the U.K. TR Register International weekend in U.K. at
Malvern close to Birmingham. As last year hunderds of TRs and
other Triumphs were present again and with the exeption of a
rainshower on saturday the weather was great, this in contradiction
to the rest of Europe. As the bible states "Jesus Christ ascended
to heaven in Triumph" and he still looks well after us. On the other
hand I wish he could keep an eye on fuel prices, because in U.K.
they charge now around 5 1/4 $ a gallon and that throws some
shadow on our so beloved TRing.
At the occasion I had calibrated the Electronic fuel and Ignition
management of my 6 by Neil Revington on a Rolling Road. With
the exeption of the extractor exhaust the engine is standard 150 PI
and I now got 135 HP at the rear wheels. This is a nice resault and
the car has considerably improved in street handling with low
octane gas, don't forget that the engine has been designed to run
on 100+ octane.
On my wish list for this year was also a visit to Gaydon. For any
British Car enthusiast this is the place to go, its like a roman
palace filled with British Cars. At the occasion I met our friend John
very nice man, too bad I could not spent more time with him,but I
bought his book and I must say the more you read and know about
the backgrounds of our cars the more you enjoy them.
My next appointment is the Euromeeting in Spa/Francorchamps
and one day may be the VTR convention still om my wish list.
Happy TRIUMPHing to all of you.
