Hello all
I cleaned down my non overdrive box this weekend and also removed the
top cover. All seemed quite good, with no chipped teeth and little
play in the shafts. I was thinking of pulling the box down and
rebuilding using one of the kits from T.R.F or Moss. How easy are
these boxes to work on, and will I need any specialist tools. I
looked at the workshop manuals and of course the Standard Triumph
original uses all the Churchill tools. In the Haynes however, none
are employed and a few drifts seem enough to get the job done.
Finally are there any other items worth replacing apart from the bits
in the kit, ie bearings, syncro rings, seals and gaskets.
