It's not clear to me that there ever was a factory radio, in spite of
there being mounting provisions in the body for it. It would have been
a tube radio, probably with a remote control head near the driver and a
"valve unit" mounted to the firewall (some have said that's what the 4
unused captive nuts in the passenger's footwell are for), but I've never
seen or heard of one. There's no entry in the factory parts catalog for
it. The different frequency bands in use around the world would also
have been a problem, I'm not sure how much our AM broadcast band was
used in Europe at that time. The original Blaupunkt in my 1970 Audi
would only tune shortwave bands.
The US dealers apparently sometimes fitted radios, using an aftermarket
plinth that ran from the trans tunnel to the dash stiffener rails, which
carried both the radio and speaker (ignoring the cutout in the
passenger's kick panel). There was one sold on eBay recently.
Solid-state AM-FM (no stereo) receivers bearing the Triumph name are
also occasionally sold.
Personally, I'm mounting a modern unit behind the glovebox door, to be
replaced with the AIWA CD-MP3 player as soon as it's available. 12
hours of music on a single CD !
