TR6 Engine Rebuild ~ your opinions

> and you think rebuilding it will cure that? i have learned some
universal truths in this lifetime. they are:
1. lbc's and chevy big blocks leak stuff, period.
2. any new paint applied prior to finishing restoration will be
scratched.....many times.
3. powder-coating is an instrument of the devil.
4. bud rolofson will have more tools upon leaving your house than when he
arrives.
5. por-15 is a good substitute for a tattoo.

mind
> I would redo the engine compartment as well.
> since you said that you'd HAVE it done, i assume you mean everything
including re-assembly of the block. i recommend this final step by the
machinist as it usually gives you a warranty. i'd guess your total costs
would run between $1200 to $2000 depending on how much stuff you have to
replace (pistons, camshaft, rings, bearings, oil pump, valves, rockers,
springs, etc.).
concerning the engine compartment, pls refer to universal truth #2.

> Third, can anyone suggest someone in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, Ct)
nope, and i can't help you in denver either.
