Hi List!
Michael F. brought up a point that I really wounder about many times &
have been very reluckant (sp) to do.
That is: Posting personial replies. I trulyunderstand that many people
belive that ALL replies should be posted to the list & not to an
individual. Many of you listers have received replies from me in
personial replies & not on the list. I guess that I have seen how some
people may have taken a repliy in the wrong contax & may feel
enbarrassed because it was posted on the list. That's why I make my
posts private.
On the other hand, Michael seem pleased that I did make a summary of my
posts to the list. While I am afraid of voliting a members "trust" in
publicaly posting there input. I'm sorry to theoe people for Not asking
their permision before making my summary of the answers to my "spin-off"
of a previous thread.
My question of Etiquette is: Is it wrong to to use a private post
answer, to a list [public] thread? I made the post because my problem
was the same "end result" [popping out of 3rd gear], as a previous
thread "Transmission Woe", but my cause was not having anything to do
with that persons problem [Not internial tranny problems, but more
physical structure of extrenial pressure on the outside of the tranny].
& I thought the list might want to note that. I did try to note the
credit by post person with response.
I see people putting foot notes at the bottom of there response as to
not to repeat their answer. Does that mean that one is not to pass the
information along? I'm truly confused by this. I have spoken [thur
private E-mails] about e-mail etiquette & was refered to a URL address
that states "computor Etiquette". I've lost the url but it was
interesting & confusing to me [but that's me]. -Cosmo Kramer
