Hey Steve,
I bought a used oil filter adapter with used filter at a swap meet at
the Ventura British car show. It came with two adapters for purolator or
tecalamit (or something like that) heads. One is coarse and the other fine
threaded. The seller warned that using the wrong spin on filter without an
internal bypass would prevent the car from building oil pressure. I believe
my current filter is a Fram PH3600, but I would have to check. It all works
fine, but I will be replacing it to get one with fittings for an oil cooler
attachment. I may use it in my second TR. Spin on oil filters are much
easier to deal with than the renewable element types.
     God luck & safe motoring
