Hello Listers,

I'm slowly inching towards starting the carpeting of my TR3. One of the
first pieces to be installed is the piece that goes along the firewall above
and around the opening for the gearbox tunnel. Two questions:

1) What is the correct treatment of the grommets and cables for the
temperature gauge and tach? Do I just cut out a little corner of the
carpeting, or undo them and route the cables _through_ the carpeting?

2) The carpet I bought (from TRF) has rubber backing behind it. Is it still
recommended to put a layer of felt under all the pieces? The carpet pieces
that go in the footwell floors already have thick felt attached to them.

3) In general, do I cut and trim each piece as it is being installed, or
have the extra lay under the next piece that gets installed?

Ok -- make it three questions.

Thanks!
