First, a thank you to all who responded to my questions about different
types of TR-3 wheels. I now know a lot more about the wheels than I did a
week ago. I apparently have nine 4 1/2" TR-3 wheels, with the centers
attached to the rims with 3 sets of 3 large rivets. The larger curve on the
outer lip of two of the wheels was apparently done to comply with new DOT
standards enacted during the TR-3/A production run. One more question:
Where do you measure the rim to come up with a width? I first measured
across the outer edges of the rim lips, and got about 5". I then measured
across the inner face of the "shoulders", and got about 4 1/16". From all
the list responses, these are definitely 4 1/2" rims. Where am I supposed
to be measuring?
Thanks,
Dennis Lambert
