Steering Column 74 TR6

Listers,

I have up and down play in my steering column and I can not find out how to
fix it.  The whole column moves up and down at the steering wheel about 1/2
inch.  It is not the bushings since the whoe coulmn moves.  I could not
figure out how the column is held steady.  Anyone have an idea?  Are there
some bolts that attach the column to the car that may be loose?
