Note that towing from the rear (i.e. front wheels on the ground rolling
backwards) can have a very detrimental effect should you happen to have
wire wheels. It is possible for the knockoff to unwind and disappear.
(Unfortunately, such was the case years ago when I was following a
friend's XK-150 being towed in such a manner.) If you're the type that
takes care of your wheels and keeps the splines clean and greased
properly, you might then just be watching the wheels part company with the
car as well. (Fortunately such was NOT the case with the friend's XK150;
it had suffered from long neglect before he bought it and had it towed to
my house! :-) )
