Let's keep things in perspective. The choice is between a 25 year old
spitfire and a 15 (or so) year old Toyota Tercel. You can't claim that a
15 year old Japanese car is going to be reliable, either. That's way past
it's design life, too. And one is more likely to find a low milage, always
garaged, well kept LBC than one is to find a low milage, always garaged,
well kept rice burner. Rice burners are appliances, not objects of
passion.
Repairs to Japanese cars are typically horendous due to the labor and the
parts. LBC's are generally easier to repair and the parts are definately
less expensive.
