y'all
think I would be better off doing a complete rebuild of the engine and
waiting
another year to get my TR4A on the road again - or could I get away with
new
piston/liners, main bearing, rod bearings and thrust washers and be able to
finish the brakes/suspension and be able to drive the car this summer?
Just wanting some feedback before I make my choice.
Thanks in Advance,

Raymond,
Depends on the current condition of the engine. If it is OK but a little
tired I would take the second tack and drive the car. What's the point of
having a pristine engine in a car you can't drive. These engines are tough
and were intended to be renewed in the manner you just described so doing
the bearings and Piston/liners will probably get you by for about 15 years
or so. Then do a complete rebuild.
