Hi list I picked up a thread regarding the recommended oil for diffs and gearboxes, this same conversation came up at one of our club meetings. The story goes that any gear oil without GL5 printed in the bottle will attack phosphor bronze bushes. I checked my Hypoid at home and it is EP80, GL4. Is this O.K or should I replace diff. oil with something else. John Gillis 1954 TR2 TS3618. October 1954 (ground up) 1964 Triumph 3TA 350cc (a little gem) Trinity College Dublin, IRELAND. |
