Ken,
My mistake yesterday the blurb was in Car Collector magazine in the
April 2000 issue page 10. Although there is a very nice picture of
the car, the info provided is not very useful. Here it is exactly as
it appears in the magazine:
BMW MINI RETURNS TO THE US AFTER A 30-YEAR HIATUS
Detroit Michigan - The BMW Mini will return to the United States,
after an absence of more than three decades, when a totally redesigned
model is launched worldwide in 2001.
The original car was intended to be the smallest possible care
that would accommodate four adults and luggage, measuring 10 feet
long, 4 feet high and 4 feet wide. The designer Alec Issigonis
realized that he would need to use small, 10 inch wheels and
all-independent suspension, which was rare in the UK at the time. In
all, slightly less than 10,000 Minis were sold in America between 1960
and 1967.
