Electronic Ign, junkyard replacement?

I noticed an ad on the VTR website, where a guy is offering *instructions
only* for a modern electronic ignition replacement for both Lucas and Delco

Seems to me if it were really this straightforward, I'd be reading about
such a conversion here, as an alternative to the Pertronix and Crane units.
