It was pretty easy for me, Doug. Dad was already well into his second
Triumph ('64 Herald convertible) when I "came of age," got my license and
found a late '64 Herald convertible in the classified! And the price was 
right, too! OK, that was fall 1969; maybe it doesn't work like that any more?

Anyway, that was the first one. I never really needed a reason to buy any 
of the subsequent Triumphs. Well, I did need mom and dad to co-sign on 
the second one, but I convinced dad that the car (Mk.3 Spitfire) was 
really for both of us and would allow his Herald to retire before it 
rusted away. Amazingly, that worked! From then on, I just kept buying and 
buying.... ;-)
