in my continuing efforts to re-assemble "Satan's Machine", i learned
some valuable lessons today and thought i'd share them with the group.
1. i would like the home address of whoever designed the application that
required accelerator
pedal bushings on my "6". it is my intention to bloody his nose at the
very least. while boiling
these parts in water to make it "easier" (yeah, right!), i would've
liked the opportunity to hold
this gentlemen's hand in that same pot and ask him if he thought it was
hot enough. i'm pretty
sure it was the salt from my tears that finally got the bushings in.
2. while wire-brushing some parts today with my drill, i learned that long
sleeves on a sweatshirt
are a magnet to the rotating brush. after having the drill crawl up my
arm a couple of times, i
figured i'd remove the long sleeves. to my dismay, i found out that my
bare skin attracts the
spinning "devil wheel" even more. well, at least my arm is ready for
primer!
3. when things aren't going well, it's a mistake for a neighbor to walk up
after you just stripped off a
nice hunk of skin and ask " isn't that car finished yet?". does this
neanderthal have a clue how
long it takes to re-assemble a freakin' car?
just needed to blow off some steam tonite folks.....actually did make
some progress today but boy did every victory come tough!
