Keith, I believe you'll find studs available from any of the Big 3 (TRF,
Moss or VB)...but I'm told it's not as easy as just buying studs. I
considered doing just that myself, and opted for replacing my wire wheels
instead of changing over to steel or alloy wheels.

I checked with a couple of well known TR guys (Ken Gilanders of British
Frame & Engine in CA and Bob Wanta here in Connecticut) and they both said
it had taken them as long as 3 days just to replace the studs in the rear.
Apparently, the front studs are relatively easy to replace - they're just
pressed in. I understand that the rears are somehow threaded in and then
peened over (or something like that) and are a BEAR to remove! That's why
you see guys talking about keeping their longer studs for steel wheels or
Panasports and using spacers when they want to mount wire wheels (rather
than cutting the long ones to allow clearance for the wires). Once you cut
'em off to mount wires, it's REAL tough to glue that 1/4" back on! :^)

I've heard of guys replacing half-shafts with ones that already had longer
studs, but I'm not familiar enough with that idea to comment.

Perhaps there are others on the list that will offer some insight. Maybe
even some who've actually replaced the studs and not found it all that
difficult. Anyway, good luck with the project. Hope this helps.
