Early in February I'll be picking up a '62 TR4 from Houston -- for the 1200 mile
return trip to Denver. I'm looking for advice AFA what I should pack in my
"tools and spares" bag for the drive back.
Back when I drove old jeeps, the jeep-L mailing list assembled a checklist of
"must have" spares to carry on off-road outings. For the TR4, I shouldn't need
an on-board air compressor or welder -- I hope! But I would like to make sure
I'm carrying the right kit for the trip.
1) Is there a "tools and spares checklist" from the Triumph-list vault?
2) If not, what do *you* carry -- whether or not your TR is your primary car?
Especially valuable would be preparation tips for long trips like national
conventions. Thanks in advance.
note: the car has seen a fair amount of work over the last couple years and is
in great running condition. Recent work includes: new clutch and newer related
mechanicals; new Pertronix; brake m/c, pads, shoes, hoses; front end rebuild;
head R&R and valve job; radiator R&R; rebuilt carbs.
