Connecticut Emissions

Connecticut Listers,
My 75 TR6 has an emissions sticker set to expire in early December. However
my car will be 25 years old after the first of the year making it exempt
from emissions. My question is: Once you're exempt, does Connecticut still
require a visit to the emissions station to get an exemption sticker? Or
will they consider me late in renewing my sticker from December (when I
wasn't exempt) and require me to pass the test for one last time?
