The new issue of Car and Driver (Dec. 99) has a feature on 100 major
milestones of automobile history, and one is on LBCs. They have photos of a
TR3 (or TR2?), Austin Healy bug-eye Sprite, and MGA.
It's nice to get recognition.
The last paragraph may create some controversy. "Unfortunately, the
British auto industry collapsed from mismanagement, underfunding, and an
almost defiant refusal to keep abreast with technology. But it left behind
an idea and an image that still lives. The only difference is that now, a
half-century later, the best British sports cars are being built by the
Japanese and the Germans."
