The color was(is) Jasmine. It was used on the early TR6's as well - I had a
'69 TR6 (new) which was Jasmine. It is a pale yellow as you describe - but
almost a yellow-cream color.
I think the Bill Piggot "Original TR4,5,6" book has a color picture of a 250
in Jasmine. Last spring and into the summer, a guy (first name is Don) from
upstate New York was advertising a Jasmine TR6 for sale in Hemmings. He
sent
me a few pictures which I subsequently returned - they were great shots of
the car and the color - maybe you could track him down through Hemmings - I
don't subscribe any longer but they have a website.
