And on a far more frivolous, lighthearded and generally air-headed note,
I've heard that Triumphtune/Moss's triple Weber throttle linkages aren't
up to much. I've heard Revingtons' are better. Anyone tried both / got
definitive knowledge?

Adam,
When I first fitted my Webers onto my Vitesse (GT6-3 head),
I had fitted the Moss linkages.
They were in my opinion, total rubbish.
The white nylon threaded ball/sockets lost their thread within a very short
period of time. the threaded adjustment rods were very poorly finished at the
ends and different lengths, and one of them quickly bent in use.
The 'levers' which joined the individual carbs to the brass cross-bar were
ludicrous bent pieces of metal one of which twisted so badly in use that one
of the carbs closed its' butterflies whilst the car was being driven!!!
Even the O-rings, a pair of rubber rings, one on each side of a thick piece
of plastic, cracked and leaked.
The piece of plastic-apparently just for locating the rubber rings, made the
carbs stick out further from the engine than necessary, and required longer
studs to be fitted.
Moss also supplied steel Thackery Washers,(those double spring washers),
which soon cracked.
In short, I was most unimpressed.
I have no knowledge of Revingtons parts, but knowing Neil Revington & his
family personally, his stuff simply HAS to be better!!!
What I did first of all, was to obtain a set of Stainless Steel Ball and
Socket Joints, some new threaded rod which I carefully cut, filed and fitted
myself, and some short solid brass lever arms, with nuts/bolts thereto.
I also obtained much better Swedish (ABA?) O-rings, just one per carb, which
are held in place by being bonded to an alloy locating ring.
The metal thackeray washers have been replaced by metal cups with rubber
washers, I think they are called Cosworth washers, but I may be mistaken
there.
All the Moss stuff is now in my black museum.

I obtained all of the above from
