That's the sound of happy valves. Don't worry, be happy.

I just had the valves on my 76 TR6 adjusted. The car now sounds a little
like an industrial strength sewing machine. Is this the normal sound of a
properly adjusted TR6? There are no "abnormal" sounds, just a lot of
mechanical ticking of the valves. My new mechanic (who I feel does know his
stuff) says that's what I should hear. Otherwise, car runs great.
