What what it's worth, I like to stick with originality.
The standard TR6 seats are very comfortable, and reflect the overall
design of the car. They also reflect design changes throughout the
lifespan of the TR6, with seat design changing - I believe - three times
from 69 to 76.
When I fixed up my car, I did a few minor repairs to the seats. I found a
seat bottom from a passenger car and used it in my driver's seat - perfect
fit. I also had a few small pieces of vinyl repaired in as original
fabric as possible. I installed new seat diaphragms, which really helps
with comfort and support.
Then, I got some foam and other material, and padded the seats where the
old foam was broken down.
My seats now look completely original, are comfortable, and give good
support for spirited driving.
I have seen some TR6s with sport seats, but these are usually period
accessories, and 'fit' a 70's sportscar.
Just my .02 worth, and bias.
