TR6 carb air leaks

To the list:

My 76 TR6 idle will vary about 500 rpm while idling.  I know the o-rings in
the air valves are bad because the oil will drain out the bottom after only
a day or two.  Would this also cause an air leak the could be affecting the
idle?
