Fellow Scions,
While re-fitting various "bolt-on" engine items yesterday, I re-bent a
new fuel line
which I'd purchased to replace the old rusty run from the pump to the
carbs. All went
well until I tried to attach the new line to the carb. I'd purchased a
new 1/4" brass ferrel
but discovered that the bolt "bottomed out" inside the pump before it
had clamped down
on the line.
Upon removal and inspection, the new ferrel is a bit different than the
original. While both
are the same diameter, the new one is about 1/16" shorter than the old
one. Both ferrels
look like this:

NEW OLD
What is the common name/application for the OLD type ferrel. Any ideas
where I can get
one? the local parts store, not a Pep Boys type, was not sure of what
it was or where I
could get one. I don't have any orders planned to the "Big 3" otherwise
I'd just order one.
Thanks,
Gary
