Hi,
I just replaced the starter on my 59 TR3A with one from TS Imports. It was
about a third of the weight and 2 thirds the size of the old starter. You
need to know what flywheel you have. The one with the shrunken on ring gear
or the later bolted on ring gear. I have used mine for only 2 weeks so I
can't comment on the long term, but for now it works nicely.
