my guess would be a cracked head. The only way to know is to have the head
crack tested. However, you can make compression tests in various stages of
engine temperature and from there take an educated guess. I had that on my 7
as well, well, it did ok for two years with a bit of over heating, but what
the heck, the heads gone anyway, welding it up is too expensive, so you can
drive it as long as it goes.
