TR-2 Gas Mileage

Just saw an amusing ad (an orginal for sale on ebay) that brags the TR2
up as an economy car (along with it's "jet-like acceleration") that can
get up to 45 mpg.  The catch is that 45 mpg was achieved at a
"continuous 40 mph".  I suppose that might be true but where can you
drive continuously for very long at 40 mph without getting run over? 
Wonder what my TR6 would get at 40 mph besides a ticket for going too
slow?
