Listers,
Michael Porter wins the booby prize for providing the correct solution.
Interestingly enough he was also the first respondent. He suggested that I
exchange the coil with a different one. Since I had a spare old Lucas Sport
coil laying around I decided to stick that one in the spit and see what would
happen. Boy was I surprised when it solved the problem! Car revs nice
and steady and runs as smooth as can be. I'm must glad it wasn't what
some of the other suggestions were. This one was simple and easy.
Helped make last nights sleep a little more relaxed!! Thanks Michael.
Now its on to solving the high vibrations when in third and 4th above 2500
rpm. I've got a replacement diff from Joe Curry that I'll stick in there first
chance I get.
Thanks to all who responded.
