The stock needle is a B1AF for post-69 TR6s with stock Zenith-Strombergs. I
would install new jets only if they are worn e.g. have an oval looking hole
instead of a round hole. This is a job you can do although the carbs have to be
off the engine. Bob at Apple Hydraulics can sell you the correct needles, jets
and a tool to help you install the jets. If you decide to do it let me know and
I'll give you a couple of tips that I learned replacing the jets in my carbs.

I would like to replace the needles in my carbs, since I know that one is
worn oddly. This would probably help me smooth the running and eliminate
some richness. What are the correct needles for '71 TR6? (the literature is
conflicting for type 3385 carbs) Should I think about installing new
orifices in the bridge as well, or is this a job best left to
professionals? Any advice is appreciated.
