When I re-did my seat foams, I didn't notice the difference between the
foams. There is a left and a right back foam. Mine were hard to tell
apart and were not marked at all. Try the seat back foams on the frame
until you decide which on sits better against the bends you are
describing. Take your time and then take your time some more.

Yes, you're right- the seat backs are bent towards each
other. Also, the
seats themselves are skewed toward the transmission
tunnel so that it is easy
to tell which seat goes where.
